about Katherine Casey
I educate and provide guidance to breast cancer survivors during and after treatment to help them reclaim good health through nutrition and lifestyle changes with a goal to feeling more energized, empowered and ready to kick ass.
I believe that for far too long we have been misled into believing we are eating healthy diets – low fat, no fat, low carb, you name it – when in fact we are slowly killing ourselves. Just look at the statistics – obesity, cancer, diabetes, heart disease are all on the rise. What we are doing just isn’t working.
I believe that women are finally waking up and are ready to learn how to properly nourish their bodies and feed their souls. We are saying "Enough is enough; I'm worth more!"
I believe that real, whole foods, together with self nurturing, has the power to heal and that educating people about a healthy lifestyle and how to make healthy choices is the key to putting the kibosh on disease and obesity.
This is the start of our journey for empowerment ... when we finally say enough is enough.
This is even more critical when it comes to cancer -- prevention, treatment support and recurrence prevention.
But when it comes to cancer, food is only part of the equation….
Cancer is a multi-faceted disease and if we want to win the battle or prevent cancer from starting in the first place, we need a multi-faceted strategy that considers our whole person, body, mind and spirit.
True change comes from a holistic approach – Sandra Power
Stress, diet, environmental toxins and pollutants, negative emotions are all factors.
So are you feeling bone crushing fatigue that almost leaves you in tears?
Do you feel like you’re playing Russian Roulette with your health and just aren't doing enough?
Do you ever hear that little voice that says, “If I don’t make some changes, I’m going to get sick again!”?
Have you heard the dreaded “you have cancer”, and are terrified of hearing it again??
Then tell me... what is stopping you from embarking on a journey to reclaim your good health or from getting the support you need as you recover from the battle of a lifetime?
Is it “my diet isn’t’ that bad”? Is it that “I just don’t have time to eat healthy”? Take a good long look in the mirror and take in what you see.
Does your reflection look happy and healthy? Do you look energized? If you see dark circles, spotty complexion, dull skin, my guess is you’re not happy with what you see. And if you’re feeling bloated and gross and gassy, your diet is definitely not fine.
How do you feel?
Rundown? Moody? Unattractive? Out of Control? Paralyzed by fear?!
In a nutshell, your body is like a car … if you put crap in the tank, it’s going to run like crap.
If that’s you, your body is not getting what it needs and now is the time to learn just exactly what that is... and, if you're dealing with a cancer diagnosis, it's critical. If you want to have a better treatment outcome, you need to make better choices.
So what’s so special about me and my approach? Here’s just a snapshot of what I stand for and what’s important to me….
Life is meant to be lived and enjoyed to the fullest! I’m a firm believer that there is humour in almost every situation. While a complete eating transformation is difficult , especially when dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis, laughter somehow makes even the most difficult situations bearable.
Life can be hard. We are all in different places in our lives with different feelings, preferences, strengths & weaknesses. I understand and honour wherever you happen to be on your journey.
Honesty and integrity are huge for me. You can trust that I’ll do what I say I’m going to do. I have your best interests at heart.
I am completely approachable and always happy to listen. No question is a dumb question and I’ll never make you feel silly or small.
A little bit more about me...
I’m a Registered Holistic Nutritionist™ and Certified Professional Cancer Coach. But how did I get so passionate about clean eating and education you ask?
The short story is that in 2011, I enrolled in a natural nutrition program at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition and my eyes were forever opened. The same month I started my studies, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. When I was first diagnosed, I was afraid to eat. I didn't know what was good for me and what wasn't. The fear was paralyzing. Natural nutrition turned out to be a lifeline for me.
It gave me control and showed me a whole way of eating that was healing.
I completed my studies in 2013 and finished top of my class with a mission to share this new superpower I had mastered with women like me who were feeling lost and powerless after a breast cancer diagnosis. After my studies, I was armed and dangerous. I was equipped to meet my fear of recurrence head on and take control of my health. And that's what I want for all women who find themselves in a similar situation or want to avoid such a situation. Empowerment.
I have since gone on to obtain my certification as a Certified Professional Cancer Coach where my goal is to educate and assist breast cancer patients and survivors and help them gain control of their lives through nutrition and lifestyle modifications. To me, this is the ultimate transformation.
It is now my personal mission to share this lifestyle transformation that I have experienced with as many people as possible so they too can take back control. You do not have to be a prisoner in an unhealthy body or be attacked by disease. It is not a life sentence.
